Student Attendance and School Times

Every Day Counts!

When children are enrolled, it is expected they will attend school very day of each term.  St James records the daily attendance of students.  Please refer to the below table for the school times.

School Times

8.45am	Classroom doors open – students commence quiet reading and preparation for learning
9.00am	Learning Block 1
11.00am	Eating Time
11.10am	Recess
11.30am	Learning Block 2
1.00pm	Eating Time
1.10pm	Lunch Play
2.00pm	Learning Block 3
3.30pm	Students Dismissed

 

Students are expected to be at school all day, every day, unless they are too sick to attend.  Every day counts in their learning.  For extended leave of absence, for example, overseas holidays, please complete an Application for Leave During Holidays form.  The principal will provide an approval for extended leave.

To avoid students having UNEXPLAINED ABSENCES, Parents/Guardians are reminded to inform the School by 9.15am via:

Please provide the students name, date and reason for absence.  If your child has an unexplained absence recorded, the school will contact you to confirm your child’s absence.
