Principal's Message
Dear Families,
Next term our year 4-6 students will compete against other local Catholic Schools in Winter Sports. Students are involved in 3 sports- Netball, Newcombe and Football. Football this year is 9 a side with substitute players. This decision is not a school decision but has come from the coordinating team. This year, we are very fortunate to have all our games at home starting at 1pm. We cannot run these games without parent support for umpiring. A google form will be sent out early next term asking for volunteers. Parents who do not have children in years 4-6 are also encouraged to help out if possible.
To accommodate Winter Sport, Assemblies will be moved to 9am Friday mornings for Term 3.
As we wind down to the end of a very busy term 2 , we'd like to share some upcoming community events with you so that you can put them in your diaries:
Monday July 21- school closure
Friday July 25 - 50 years celebrations (Mass at 11am, followed by BBQ lunch)
August 4- 3/4 long day experience
August 7 - Whole school disco
August 8 - Pyjama and Movie Day
August 22 - Book Week Celebrations
August 29- Grandparent's Day (Mass at 11 followed by shared lunch)
September 5- Father's Day breakfast and Mass
September 9/10- Year 5/6 camp
September 19- Last Day of Term 3
October 6- First day of Term 4
October 31- school closure
November 3 - school closure
November 4- Cup Day
November 13- Sacrament of Reconciliation
December 9- Carols on the Green
December 10- Year 6 Big Day Out
December 11- Graduation Mass and Dinner
December 12 - End of Year Mass and Guard of Honour
December 15/16- no formal classes
Many of these events will be supported by our P&F group, please support the wonderful work they do by volunteering to help.
We wish you a happy holiday break, if travelling, please travel safely. We also wish Fr Avinash a very happy birthday and hope he enjoys celebrating with his family in India.
Welcome to the team Danielle Coulson who will be our PE teacher from the start of next term. She brings a wealth of experience from other DOSCEL and MACS schools. We thank Mr Gulavin for his work with our students and wish him well with his studies.

End of Term Arrangements
On Friday 4 July (last day of term), bus students will be dismissed at 2.30pm to ensure that families utilising the bus service will be able to do so. Families are also welcome to sign their student/s out at this time.
If you are unable to pick up your student/s at 2.30pm staff will continue to supervise until 3.30pm.

Both the PAM and Schoolzine Calendars have been updated with new information.
To access the Schoolzine calendar through the app you will be prompted to enter a password - James4011
This year St James will be using two main platforms of communication with our families - PAM and Schoolzine.
To ensure that you keep up to date with what is happening with your children and within the school please ensure that you have access to these platforms and are familiar with their uses.
If you require assistance with accessing or setting up these platforms, please do not hesitate to contact the school office.
From time to time it will also be necessary for emails and text messages to be sent.
Schoolzine App Installation Instructions:
This is an app that you have on your phone and allows for easy reading of the newsletter, as it customises to the screen and translates into many languages if required.
