St James Green Thumbs
A group of gardeners from across the school, led by Mr Balzary, planted a new crop of spring fruit and vegetables. As the soil warms up in October, the gardeners planted tomatoes, carrots, rosemary, thyme, sage, parsley, zucchinis and garlic has been growing well for a little while now. Soon to go in will be some beans and corn.
Mr Balzary was pleased with the enthusiasm from the students in learning where their food comes from. The group will be passing the harvest onto the canteen chefs to make quick use of the St James bounty in the Monday lunch’s menu. How’s that for a fork to table turnaround!
