All classrooms gave time and attention to learn and celebrate Indigenous Australians. We held a whole school liturgy to pray for and remember the Reconciliation process of the Indigenous people of our land. We prayed for inclusiveness and unity for all Australians.
In art we also created some aboriginal inspired art to make a decorative cross for display in the church. It looks quite beautiful and hope it makes people appreciate the richness of aboriginal culture brings to Australia.
Grade 5 and 6 students sold the NAIDOC stationary packs for $3.00 each. These consisted of a ruler, pencil, pen and wrist band. The students were able to wear their wristbands at school during NAIDOC week. All funds raised were for the Koori kids.
