This year’s theme for the Pakenham Art show was 100 years of Anzacs. Our year 3,4,5 & 6’s made plaster cast faces, these were stuck on a large cardboard back drop. All students worked on making silk poppies during art and students came in at lunch time to help paint the mural inspired by the poppy fields of Flanders. We asked families in the school to see if they had any family members who had served in WW1, these names were incorporated in the art work as grass. Students brought in precious family memories from WW1 to share with the school. It was inspiring to see so many of our families so excited to share their family connection to the Anzac's. Our piece was placed second in the primary school section.
