t was great to have our magnificent hall back for events such as the Mother’s Day Breakfast. The weather had suddenly decided to turn the dial to winter mode and we were able to host a beautiful breakfast indoors, in the warmth!
There were a great many mums able to attend this year. They enjoyed a cuppa, hot ham & cheese croissants, muffins and a selection from a spectacular fruit platter. It was a lovely occasion to share a special breakfast between mums and their children. St James carried the tradition of calling on Dads to help with the catering and serving. Big thanks go out to Steve Reilly, Brendan Ralph, Travis Parker, and Brett Koch for helping in the kitchen and providing the mums with a special treat.
After brekkie, the whole school celebrated a thanksgiving Mass with gratitude for our Mothers. As Bernie Hance said at the end of the ceremony, “There’s no greater way of teaching love than through the family” and this is so true with the unconditional love that mothers offer their children. Sometimes we can take our mums for granted and its occasions like this that remind us that we are blessed to have the gift of Mums!
