Mission Monday

In Jamaica only some children have the benefit of attending schools run by Catholic Missions, so raising awareness of this cause for Catholic Missions was a priority at St James. We were very fortunate to have one of our mums, Eve Koch who offered to cook some Sri Lankan dishes. Staff jumped on board with the ides and offered to make food from around the world.

The children entered the hall to an aroma of awesome smells, with Lebanese bread, fried rice, sushi rolls, Chinese fortune cookies, lamingtons, curry puffs, Mexican nachos, Filipino dishes, chocolate mousse, Spanish potato cakes and many more.

The hall had been decorated with a bunting of flags from around the world, children dressed in costumes and our principal Mr McDermott was eloquent wearing clothing from the Middle East.

We raised quite a lot of money and filled in the word MISSION on the cent line.

Thank you to everyone who helped out on the day.
