Students were treated to a special dance workshop last Thursday 7th March. Led by Stomp Dance representative, Pieter, St James children were taken through a number of Hip Hop steps, inspired by traditional Aboriginal dance moves. This was a very effective choreography mix, and an interesting combination of dance methods.
All students were engaged and showed a lot of enthusiasm for what Pieter was teaching them.
After school, families returned to school for a picnic dinner and were thoroughly entertained with a performance of the Indigenous/Hip Hop infusion. Students, staff and even some parents joined in the fun. It was a great community event with lots of participation. Thank you to our families for making it such a great experience.
