St James Swimming Squad were outstanding at the Lang Lang and District Swimming Carnival. Jaylen showed us a great backstroke style. John and Tiahli were our youngest competitors and they both made finals, so we look forward to next year when they will be still in the under 10 age group. Rory, Kingston, Tate and Tarrant combined well in their freestyle relay and made us all proud. The senior girls (Shae, Stella, Shari and Ellie) and junior girls (Tiahli, Matilda, Mia and Lucy), swam beautifully into third place in their freestyle relays. Shae, Shari, Rory, Georgia, Lily, Lucy, Aidy ,Oscar and Peyton all made it to the finals. We didn’t have an entrant in the 12 boys 66 metre champions race – so 9 year old Oscar volunteered and found himself on the dias for 3rd place!! Many thanks to all the parents and supporters who helped make our day so special. And thanks to for the parents who tirelessly helped out on the day – things ran so smoothly thanks to you all. Congratulations to all our swimmers and a special mention to Peyton (butterfly), Oscar (breaststroke) and Aidy (Backstroke) who will represent Lang Lang District at Zone level. Another special mention goes to Oscar,John, Peyton and Aidy who also will represent Lang Land District in the freestyle relay.
St James has proven to be good swimmers over recent years and was today awarded the completed shield from years gone by. We were the school that had won the most times over the past 16 years. So well done not only to our current swimmers but also our past swimmers.
